About Me

    Art was not an offering at the schools I attended growing up, but  I always enjoyed drawing, coloring etc.  In fact, the only time I received a spanking in school was when I got caught drawing a horse in the 2^nd grade!  I never dreamed I would ever have the opportunity to turn it into a profession.

     My daughter, Jade, is the true artist in the family!  In the PTA Reflections contest for 2007, she won first place for the state of South Carolina & received one of only four Awards of Excellence given Nationally for an oil painting she did.  Jade is now a Bob Ross certified landscape instructor also.

      I became a Bob Ross Certified Instructor for Landscape, Floral and Wildlife.  I have continued my art education with several advanced seascape classes, auditing landscape & floral classes, and attaining my certification in the (Bill) Alexander method of painting, as well as working with artists such as Buck Paulson & Dorothy Dent.

     I now teach at Hobby Lobby stores and other private establishments all over the state of South Carolina, as well as Augusta, GA and a newly opened store in Arden NC.   It is great fun, and I meet the most wonderful people! 

    I do enjoy a few other activities – our beach house in Myrtle Beach, SC, our AKC Champion French Bulldog, known as “Paris”, our male Frenchie, Dabo, and our Persian cat, CC.  Paris is a certified Therapy Dog now that she has completed her show career.  We travel to nursing homes, schools, and hospitals including the Shriners Hospital and the School for the Deaf and Blind where she works her magic & puts smiles on everyone’s faces!
